Maltese Islands

If you visit Malta in the summer, you will likely never set foot indoor. There are some kid-friendly hotels in Malta that are perfect for an ultra-relaxing break like The Westin Dragonara Resort, or the all-inclusive db Seabank Resort + Spa. Lounge poolside, splash in the beach, then bring the kids over to the kids’ club while you go for a night out.

The country is made up of three islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino. You will find amazing all-inclusive resorts where you never have to leave or you can go for an apartment-style option then explore the secluded beaches.

Tip- If you want to get around solo without a tour guide or resort, rent a car. It will make it easier to get around and you will see a lot more of Malta.

Kos, Greece

Greece is easily one of the best Mediterranean destinations for families. It is one of those picture-perfect countries that steal your heart at first sight. The only real question is: which island in Greece is best? While there is definitely some debate there, Kos has a certain charm.

Go windsurfing at Mastichari Beach. Pull up to the bar at Lambi Mylos Beach. Stroll the historical sights of the ancient island then fall in love with the city of Kos.

The city, Palma, has great shopping, Gaudi-designed architecture, and as much of the high life as you want to soak in. While you live it up there, families tend to love it because it ticks all of those essential family-friendly boxes. Cyprus

One of the most dynamic Mediterranean destinations for families, each region has something different to offer. Pafos is a must-see for busy, athletic families. You can head out on a boat, go to the waterpark, or on a snorkeling trip. Lemesos has some of these same water activities as well, along with great places to ride horses. If you have young kids, Lemesos is an especially great pick because the water is shallow so it’s sage and approachable.

If you have older kids, check out Larnaka. There are fun underwater activities and cool options for exploration like camel rides and sea caves.

Kyrenia and Famagusta are the prime spots for history buffs. Explore the fairy tale castles, see the famous Kyrenia shipwreck and Famagusta’s walled old city.

One of our favorite resorts on the island is the Aphrodite Hills Golf & Spa Resort Residences.
