Photography is a wonderful hobby – and for some, it’s even a job. Luck you. I don’t think you can start early enough with taking pictures. Photography is art. And it’s fun.

Kids can’t start early enough

So I have decided to gift my daughter her first digital camera. She’ll be seven years old (pssst – don’t tell her yet). It’ll be a Nikon Coolpix W100. I’m a fan of Nikon myself, and I like that they have a camera that is customized for kids. In fact, one of my daughter’s classmates has this camera – and takes some very nice pictures with it. If your kids are still smaller, and you want to add the extra “toy factor”, consider the VTech Kidizoom Duo 5.0 Deluxe.

This is a less professional camera, and more a toy, although it also makes very good pictures. It has a 5MP image sensor and a VGA rear camera for selfies.
