Hawaii is the 50th state to have joined the United States of America on August 21, 1959. These amazing islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and are about 5 to 6 hours plane ride from Sacramento, San Francisco, or San Jose Airport. The average flight from other locations in the United States is typically a couple of hours longer. Every year, families would flock into this island to experience unforgettable excursion with its stunning white beaches and luxury resorts with the lovely mountains and lush greeneries as the backdrop.

How to Get to Hawaii?

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) on Oahu is Hawaii’s major airport, which serves as an entry point for most tourists who want to visit Hawaii. You can get to Hawaii from anywhere by flying with major domestic carriers like Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. The flight from the West Coast usually takes around 5 to 6 hours. Depending on which airport you land in Hawaii, you can take a taxi or rent your own vehicle to reach your destined resorts. Some resorts also offer pick-up services upon request.

When is the best time to go to Hawaii?

The best time to visit Hawaii depends on which island you want to visit on and what your intended activities are. The dry season in Hawaii falls between April and October and is probably the best time to visit Hawaii if you want to catch some good travel deals. The Hawaiian Islands have a tropical climate with lots of humidity – something to keep in mind since children are more sensitive.

The wet season falls between October and March with a calmer weather condition for families. Since these months are “peak” season, expect the flights and hotel accommodations to be more expensive than during other months.

If you want to catch Hawaii’s world-famous surf season, then the best time to visit Hawaii is mid-November and early February when waves are bigger.

There are over 100 striking white beaches, 8 nature parks, 50 luxury hotels, and hundreds of activities to do in Hawaii. The islands are so close to each other that a month-long excursion would be enough to circle the entire state and pay a visit to the surrounding islands.

Every year, families would visit Hawaii to immerse with its rich Hawaiian culture and experience great adventures by jumping from one island to another. The captivating beaches are must-visit destinations. Some of the popular activities that families enjoy in Hawaii include beach excursion, scuba diving, snorkeling, whale watching, island hopping and surfing, dancing, and simply enjoying the rhythmic nightlife of the island.

Is Hawaii family friendly?

Hawaii is absolutely family-friendly. Ohana, which means “family,” is greatly important in Hawaiian culture, making it a perfect destination for families, whether small or big.

My favorite islands are Maui and Big Island. When it comes to natural wonders, great food, and white beaches, Maui is the most versatile of all but is also the most visited place. It is a little crowded but definitely worth your time and money. The beaches are safe and well-guarded.

Kids can take pleasure in surfing lessons with highly-trained professionals and enjoy whale watching while on a boat tour. There are also several nature destinations on the island and eco-friendly restaurants offering healthy and delicious meals.
