If you are looking for family-friendly outdoorsy activities, this is the place for you. The bike paths span over 100 miles, and good old fashioned family fun like crabbing is always on the agenda.
You can stay a night or two in Savannah or Charleston, and I’d recommend at least a couple of nights just in Hilton Head Island.

Back in full swing after the 2017 hurricane, this place is any beach-loving family’s dream come true. Explore the paths for walking and biking through Cabo Rojo Salt Flats and National Wildlife Refuge. Take in the sights of Old San Juan and the Castillo San Felipe del Morro. The Grand Canyon is absolutely an all-ages destination. In fact, bringing the kids to the Grand Canyon at different ages will create totally different experiences.
For babies and toddlers, bring a carrier. While a stroller is always good to have for long trips, it will get frustrating when you are walking in rocky areas. Even if you’re not planning a major hike, bring both, so you’ve got options.
The Rim trail is perfect for families, and it starts at Mather Point beside the Visitor Center. Almost all of it is paved, and there are beautiful vistas along the way. Rent a bike to explore the trails and Grand Canyon Village with the whole family. Most of the local rental options offer an option to rent a small bike trailer that’ll carry younger ones who aren’t ready to go solo.
