We’ve all heard about the magical city of Venice. But did you know the romantic city gets even more magical during the Carnival of Venice? This Carnival is held every year at the end of January and the beginning of February.

During this centuries-old Venice Carnival or Carnevale di Venezia you will find the streets brimming with people. They all wear elaborate bright-colored costumes and masks. As well as music performances, opera, and masquerade contests all through the city.

The Carnival in Venice will start 40 days before Easter, but the biggest events of the Carnival will take place starting 15 days before ash Wednesday. With one of the main events being the water parade with colorful boats on the Grand Canale. This parade is called Festa Veneziana sull’acqua. But the most popular event is the Flight of the Angel on the St Marks Square. Somebody will glide down a rope in awe aspiring white costume, make sure to come early.
