The Leipzig Christmas Market is one of the largest markets holiday-spirited markets in Germany. The month-long market is set in the scenic historical center of Leipzig which only adds to the festive atmosphere.
The story says the market has been held in Leipzig since the year 1458. Because the market is set in the photogenic historical center of Leipzig you can imagine how it would look hundreds of years ago. History does not only stay in our minds and imagination. The famous 100-year-old Carousel at the market will literally take you back in the past.
There are six areas with more than 250 stalls where you can find anything from local food to handicrafts and antiques. All six areas have their own theme and appeal. For example, at the Naschmarkt behind the Town Hall, you can find handicrafts. The handicrafts are made with old techniques and craftsmanship which can only be inherited.
The Finnish Village is a world of wonders where adults and children alike will amazed. Let your imagination run and let your mind wander off to sages and legends at the Fairy Tale Forest.

Anastasi in Neos Kosmos, Athens is the celebration of Good Friday and the night of Holy Saturday. These dates are the most important events of Greek Orthodox Easter.
The priests of the different churches start chanting at midnight. They will chant “Christos Anesti” which means ‘Christ has risen’. While chanting, they will pass the holy light through the crowd from one devotee to the other.
