Las Fallas Celebration in Valencia is one of the most exciting and fun festivals in Spain. If you love tradition, culture, art, and a bit of fire you will love this event.
This celebration originated years back when an old carpenter would burn pieces of wood at the end of the winter. With the passing of years, the pieces of wood would be covered in rags, and later they changed to dolls. Nowadays you’ll see true pieces of art designed by local artists. Sometimes it takes months to make these elaborate pieces and even those will be burned in one night.
As said the main event is the burning of the art pieces and dolls, but there is much more. There is music, religious festivities, and delicious paella for everybody to enjoy. If you love traditional clothing you will really like the fact, there will be a lot of people in traditional attire.
