Event Details

The Festival of the Seas in Cascais is a local celebration in honor of the Holy Mary. During 10 days the streets will be filled with music, food, dancing, and other festivities. The local name of this festival is Festas do Mar.

Every year this festival will be held to honor the Holy Mary who is the protector of the seafarers. To thank her for bringing back home all men and women at sea they will celebrate with music. Every day you’ll be able to enjoy live music at the Cascais Bay and Palco Cidadela. From folk music to complete symphonies and a concert for children, it’s all there.

On Sunday at 3 PM there is a procession. This procession will lead from the Nossa Senhore dos Navegantes church to the sea. When the fisherman and townspeople get there they will enjoy the rest of the day on their boats. At the end of the festival, you can join the villagers to see the fireworks in the bay.
