Costa Brava Family Hotels – Tips and Recommendations
The Costa Brava is a beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean Sea in northeastern Spain with lively beach resorts and secluded beaches. It’s part of the autonomous community of Catalunya (Catalonia in English).
- In July and August, many hotels are fully booked. Try to book ahead, ideally several months ahead.
- The best time to go is from April until June, and September/October. July and August are just very busy and hot, however many visitors prefer that. In winter many hotels and restaurants may be closed, however, the Costa Brava can be visited all year round.
- We recommend to book your accommodation through Booking.com and some of the activities through Get Your Guide, however, we will explain in details which hotels and why, or which activities we recommend for which age group.
If you go with an agency for holiday homes, make sure the properties are licensed and the agency complies with local laws and insurance requirements.

Hotel Hostalillo, Tamariu, mid-range

Wonderful 4-star hotel overlooking the bays of Fornells and Aiguablava. It has a very attractive outdoor pool, a popular restaurant with stunning views, and a children’s play area. Hotel Sa Tuna, Begur/Sa Tuna, mid-range
If you want to stay at a secluded beach, Sa Tuna and its small hotel is great (there is only one hotel). What you get is a place right next to the beach, with a restaurant and included breakfast. The hotel only has 5 rooms, so you need to be quick. Tel: +34 972 62 21 98.
La Costa Hotel Golf & Beach Resort, Pals, mid-range
This resort has all the facilities you need: outdoor pools, fitness center, golf, onsite restaurant, a bar, a beach club right on the beach, bicycle for rent, etc. The beach is in close walking distance. Hotel Terramar, Llafranc, mid-range

Almadraba Park Hotel, Roses, luxury
Wonderful hotel overlooking the Bay of Roses, located within the Cap de Creus National Park. The hotel comes with a great outdoor pool, amazing views, tennis and squash courts, and table tennis.
