The Rain Song

What is on the page

The four lines of the song in large type, with Totochie hopping and Fido the frog sitting beside him, both ready to be colored. Music notes and raindrops fill the sky around them.

The words

When the rain drops, the frog hops.
When the rain drops, Totochie hops.
And the snails slither, and the worms wiggle,
and that’s what happens when the rain drops.

Ideas for using it

• The book gives only the words, so the tune is yours. Make one up, or chant it like a rhyme.
• Act it out: hop like a frog, slither like a snail, wiggle like a worm.
• It works well as a circle-time rhyme during a weather week.
