The Pirate Battle of Omis, Croatia

The Pirate Battle of Omis is a must see event in the coastal town of Omis in Croatia. When you are on holiday in Croatia and visit this village, it is not hard to see why this event is held here. The town has a glorious pirate history that dates back 600 years.

Every year on the 18th of August, the town will take a step back in history. You will find yourself amidst a re-enactment of a real Gusarska Bitka, as they call the Pirate Battle. It is an incredible spectacle of canons, pistols, and fierce battling between pirates. Young and old will be in awe of the sword duels and amazing stunts performed by the pirates.

Visiting is almost like participating in a Hollywood blockbuster. Make sure not to miss this amazing event. Apart from the battle, you can listen to live music and partake in fun activities for children.
