The Medieval Festival of Sedan

The medieval festival of Sedan will be held every year in May in the castle of Sedan. You can find this château in the most northern part of France close to the border with Belgium.

During this festival, you will be brought back to medieval times in France.  Gather around to see a medieval wrestling match, taste some old-world cuisine, and learn about medieval weapons. But that’s not all,  do you want to see fire-eaters? You will find them at this festival.

During the two-day festival, you can explore several camps where you can experience everyday life. There will be more than 30 tents where you can see demonstrations and learn about archery, medieval medicine and cooking.

There is so much to see and do that it is recommended to visit both days because the festival does not only take place inside the castle. It extends into the village and even into the surrounding forest. We recommend you to go and see the highlight of the festival – the parade with torchlights on Saturday evening.
