The Golden Days in Fairbanks, Alaska, are a celebration of its founding every year in July.
This event has been celebrated every July since 1952 and boasts fun activities for the whole family. You will be able to enjoy the street fair, a rubber duckie race, and a grande parade.
During the rubber duckie race, 8,000 rubber ducks will compete in the race down the Chena River. You can see the start of those races at the Wendell Street Bridge and if your number makes it over the finish first you’ll win $10,000.
The parade at the Golden Days is the longest in Alaska. So, after watching the parade full of entertainers, music, and local heroes you can head to the street fair to have a well-deserved meal or snack to complete the day. Maybe some corn on the cob, sausage, or corndog.
This event is a great way to spend some time with family, friends, and children while enjoying a wide variety of fun activities.
