Festas Gualterianas

The Festas Gualterianas are held every year in the city of Guimarães, Portugal. It is a celebration of Saint Guálter. And it has something splendid to offer for everybody from young to old. 

Every year since 1906 this celebration will turn the city into one big festival terrain. There is so much to see and do you might not find the time to do it all. You would be amazed by the parade of masked figures and elaborately decorated floats. Folk groups will make sure the floats are accompanied by local traditional music.

During this week-long celebration, you will be able to enjoy open-air concerts of every type of music. The typical decor will help even more to feel the festive vibes. Among other activities is traditional bullfighting.

At the end of this festive week, you are able to see the most incredible fireworks. This is the highlight of the event that will blow you away and leave you in awe.

You will be able to enjoy all these incredible activities every year in the first week of August.
