Event Details

The Feast of Sant Joan is an annual celebration of the longest day in the year – the summer solstice.

The Catalans celebrate the sun and connect it with fertility. Therefore, after the sun reaches the horizon and starts to fall, they give it strength with fireworks and bonfires.

The majority of the celebration takes place after it gets dark, so give your children a few hours from sleep.

The celebration takes place across the city, but you can enjoy the mesmerizing view of the colorful sky from some of the beach bars.

A festive atmosphere in the city and Spanish style celebrations with bright fireworks are symbols of the Feast of Sant Joan in Barcelona.
