Event Details
The Seville Fair, or ‘Feria de abril de Sevilla’ in Spanish, is one of the most amazing events in Spain. It is an annual event that takes usually place two weeks after Semana Santa in the Andalusian capital of Seville (Sevilla) in Spain.
The event consists of a large fairground with ‘casetas’ – which are large tents that are owned by families, associations, or other public and private organizations. The fairground is close to the banks of the Guadalquivir River, which runs through Seville. For an outsider, it is not always easy to fully engage in the event. Try to make it into some of the tents, and you’ll have the best time of your life.
Is this event suitable for children? Absolutely, there are lots of kids around. Just keep in mind that the fairground and the tents are very busy, and lots of alcohol (mainly manzanilla – a fino sherry from Sanlúcar de Barrameda) is served. So, depending on the age of the kids – it’s important to watch out for them.
The location is a bit outside of the city center, in the area called Los Remedios. You can either walk (about 25min from the cathedral), take public transport, or a taxi.

Event Details
The birthday of Rome will be celebrated on the 21st of April, this year the city will be 2774 years old! Legend says that Romulus & Remus founded the city of Rome in 753 BC on a small hill near current Rome. After that the city quickly evolved into the famous capital of the Roman Empire, this date has been celebrated ever since.
These days the annual celebration of the birthday of Rome is still a big event. You can enjoy impressive parades, historical shows, and FREE entrance to the museums.
One of the events during the birthday of Rome is a beauty contest to become Rome’s Goddess of the year. But the main event is a historical parade. From all over Europe people will come to re-enact and dress like historical Romans to put on an incredible show. The parade ends with spectacular gladiator performances.
It is not all about parades and Roman characters. During the festivities ‘old’ Roman dishes, like stews and veal, are served around the city. You can find most of the events around the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
