Every year almost 10,000 people will participate in colorful parades with intricate costumes, dance, and music. In 1987, they even made the Guinness Book of Records with the biggest public dance with more than 200,000 participants. The festival is for all ages, young and old alike.

Every year there is a different theme for the carnival, but some things stay the same. For example, a Queen is elected, and there are also contests, dances, and other performances. During these two weeks, you will have a great time wandering the streets with your family and soaking in this fun and entertaining tradition.
